Medical astrology and Acupuncture

Medical astrology is a branch of astrology that helps practitioners see areas of potential health problems in a patient. It can also help a practitioner create strategies to address and manage a health condition.

How does medical astrology assist in managing health? Like all astrology there is vastly more to it than simply knowing your Sun sign, I’m an Aries but I also have Libra and Pisces and Taurus influences among others. All this plays into who I am and how I express who I am. But these influences can also point out weakness including physical and health weaknesses. In this way medical astrology can assist an acupuncturist such as myself to guide you in strategies to strengthen those weaknesses and be on the lookout for signs that there is a problem.

Medical astrology can also help me to choose the right treatment protocol, choose the right herbs and supplements based on your astrological pattern and constitution. This allows me to accelerate alleviation of the problem and lead to quicker healing and achievement of health goals.

Of course, prevention is always best, and medical astrology can greatly help in this. Knowing an individual’s possible weaknesses allows me to choose preventative treatment and herbs to ward off any problem that has to potential to show up at some point.

How do we know the planets have an influence on us? Well just look at women’s menstrual cycles and how in a healthy woman it synchronizes with the 28 day cycle of the moon. Do we assume the moon is the only influence on us? The universe holds many mysteries that we continue to learn about and understand. We still don’t know exactly how acupuncture works and yet for those who receive it, it does. Astrology is at least as old as acupuncture and I believe they are an ideal complement to one another.
