You wake up one morning and roll over to get out of bed and ouch you can’t turn your neck to the left without horrible pain and stiffness.Or you simply reach down to pick the kids toy off the floor and OMG you can’t stand up without sharp stabbing pain to your lower back.

What happened?
It seems sudden but is it really? Most often it’s not. Your body has gradually gotten out of balance and out of alignment from stress, bad posture, overwork, neglect, any number of reasons.
Why do we wait until we are in crisis to do something about our body’s health?
Yes, we take our bodies for granted until a warning sign like sudden pain shows up. Then we are thrown into desperation mode to have immediate relief. Consider this, how long do you suppose it took for your body to get to this critical point? How long have you been ignoring little warning signs?
Without resorting to strong medications to mask the pain how long will it take to turn the situation around?
Acupuncture can help in these crisis situations and sometimes after one treatment you can have some relief. Usually however it takes a few treatments to get the body back to homeostasis and out of pain. Most likely it took a little while for your body to
reach a state of pain and it will take a little time to return to painless.
One of the things I like best about acupuncture besides its ability to relieve pain is its potential to prevent pain in the first place with a simple maintenance plan. A simple monthly health maintenance plan can help to prevent these crisis in the first place by keeping the body in a state of balance and harmony.
